I'm Ruth, but my friends call me Ruthie. I'm a proud wife and mom of three—two adult children and a lively 14-year-old. My journey with Pokémon Go began in the summer of 2022, inspired by my then 11-year-old son who was super eager to play with his siblings and myself.
After a year of his persuasion, I finally dove in, and I have to say, I got completely hooked! Ironically, he has since moved on from the game, but I'm still enjoying every moment.
Playing Pokémon Go has not only helped me stay active by getting me to walk more but also blessed me with amazing friendships that I now proudly refer to as my Pokémon family. Once I discovered Campfire, I started organizing meet-ups for our small group. A fellow player named Chuck suggested I look into becoming a community ambassador. I had no idea what that meant at first, so I had to Google it, but felt it was a perfect fit for me, so I went ahead and applied!
This game has truly transformed me; I used to be quite shy, but now I feel like I can be my authentic self. In addition to my love for gaming, I’m a huge animal lover. My family shares our home with three dogs and two cats, and I’ve even volunteered at various animal organizations. Interestingly, I’ve managed to rescue a squirrel, a raccoon, and a bird while playing Pokémon Go!
